Roxy Summer 2012 Press Preview Collection

“Let the sea set you free” Roxy has once again out done itself with the new Summer 2012 press preview collection on Thursday January 12, 2012, event lasted 2 amazing hours from 6pm-8pm at the Ditch Plains located at 29 Bedford Street in West Village by Soho. The theme gave such a warm welcome with amazing deserts, appetizers and delicious drinks that the Roxy team provided for their guests. Each individual piece of the collection had an amazing wow factor with different types of prints and colorful stripes.

The fabulous Roxy team has surprise their guest with build your own bikini and have a martini personalized just for you based on the original swim creation. Everyone enjoy creating their own bikini’s having amazing delicious drinks with fabulous deserts at a chilly rainy day in New York City. It was so worth going to the event after school, love my new Roxy swim suit in black, the red velvet mini cupcakes were so yummie.

ASOS Spring/Summer 2012 Press Preview

The amazing online fashion and beauty retail site has out done it once again with the press preview of ASOS new Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. The exclusive press preview was taking place at THE GLASS HOUSES located at 545 West 25th Street, New York, NY.

Each ASOS collection was displayed in different categories with color and the sub-collections that ASOS offers, (BLACK, WHITE, REVIVE, AFRICA, and SALON).

The Men’s Collection was as well breath taking, very modern, sporty and classy.

TOUS Jewelry – Spring/Summer 2012 Press Preview

I was very thrill to hear that I was able to be part of TOUS jewelry Spring/Summer 2012 Press Preview collection, which by the way I would die for. It took place at the beautiful AMARIDIAN Gallery, 31 Howard Street in Soho. The location was perfect as the gallery contained beautiful (expensive) African art pieces which in fact the new TOUS collection is all about the inspiration of traditional African jewelry. The collection was full of signature jewelry, Kinshasa, Sindano, Bakuli, Iaze, Bangili, Nandi, Duna, and as well as handbags.

The Duna vermell sterling silver pendant with brown cord was hanging on branches following on the side with the Viviana linen and bovin leather handbag with serpent finishing. Perfect presentation.

This beautiful Sindano 18kt yellow gold sterling sliver bi-laminated necklace with black diamonds was placed at a great showoff following along side with the matching 18kt bracelet. It was inspired when in the 1890s the African ladies wrap the upper hem of there cloths round under the armpits.

Loving the Poison Bovin leather handbag with serpent finishing and the Viviana leather handbag. Love love love them!

Although simple the Kinishasa black rhodium sterling sliver with ice diamonds bracelet and ring made the collection complete.

What’s a collection without these beautiful Bangili Vermeil and Sterling Silver black methacrylate cuffs with leopard and zebra prints. Below the Sienna Bovine leather handbag with crocodile. Love the Poison bovine leather handbag and the Lujan Curly. Perfect for a night out in the big city.

Oh my god, when I saw the branch full of colorful jewelry I was left speechless. The braches contained signature jewelry of 18kt yellow gold necklace, vermeil sterling silver rings, sterling silver necklace with ice diamonds, Bakuli 18kt yellow gold and sterling silver bi-laminated rigid necklace with matching earrings, Iaze vermeil sterling silver and faceted smoked quartz necklace and ther sterling silver faceted peridot ring and bracelet (which one of my lovely friends couldn’t get her eyes off).

The beautiful Nandi vermeil sterling silver pendant with brown cotton cord on the green afrain piece, and lets not forget the Bakuli 18kt yellow gold and sterling silver bi-laminated rigid necklaces with matching earrings.

Roxy Spring 2012 Press Preview

One of the greatest tasks from interning at a Public Relations firm is being able to helping out with press preview events, even if that means waking up at 5am to arrive on the venue at 6am for the preparation. Its a lot of hard work but it’s a great learning experiences.

The Roxy Spring 2012 Press Preview was held in the amazing Pier 9 located at 802 9th avenue from 9am-11am. The new Spring 2012 collection is full of bright colors, stripes, Baja, Nautical, Accessories and just amazing different floral prints.

The preview showed a sneak peak of Cynthia Rowley for Roxy wetsuits S/S 2012 collection. Guest included editors from StyleCasters, Cosmo, Teen Vogue, VH1 etc. has well as Roxy surfer pros Rosy Hodge and Lee-Ann Curren.

Roxy provided custom catering that included make your own yogurt station, mini pastries and signature juices served in small glass cups.

The denim was laid out on wood table and other additional denim in a wooden ladder. Boat rope was one of the amazing props added strung across with Roxy towels hanging that gave a colorful backdrop as well as bathing suits tied along the rope. Some clothes were hung from the boat rope with “S” hooks and clothes pins.

Those who attended the Roxy event received Roxy sunglasses as a thank you (which by the way I Love!). Overall the event was a success capturing “let the sea set you free” vibe bringing Hawaii and California to New York City, can’t wait for the collection to come out in stores.

Kate Spade New York – Spring2012 Presentation

Kate Spade had an amazing presentation for the Spring 2012 Collection. The presentation was set at Helen Mills Event Space located at 137-139 West 26th Street between 6th and 7th avenue. As soon as I arrived at the venue everyone was on top of their game, making sure everything is perfect and no mistakes should be taking place. There were many graphic prints all around the venue from the walls to the furniture which was provided by Australian Artist Florence Broadhurst. Overall the presentation was a success!!!

The collection had many fun, bright colors, prints and lots of stripes. I must say, the way the collection was put together and the way it was style looked amazing. It’s so Hamptons, mix with Singapore and a touch of New York that I would wear every piece at any occasion.

Kate Spade has launch another beauty lipstick line name Supercalifragilipsticks color pop art pink and show case it at the Spring 2012 collection presentation. The fabulous Supercalifragilipsticks hit kate spade boutiques on September at the price of $24.

Made in Africa By Arise Magazine – MBFW

Best way to end the New York Fashion week was attending “Made in Africa” by Arise Magazine which was taking place at the historical Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center. This year 7 amazing Africa’s designers had taken part of Made in Africa by Arise Magazine collective which has include of Klûk CGTD, Pierre-Antoine Vettorello, Jewel by Lisa, Tsemaye Binitie, Lanre Da Silva, Asibelua and Bunmi Koko.

British Singer Leona Lewis gave a breath taking performance at the end of the Made in Africa by Arise Magazine Fashion show. The amazing singer performed “Collide”, “Better in Time”, “Bleeding Love” and Bruno Mars hit song “Grenade”. Boy, it was a great way to end the last night of Fashion week, I enjoyed it very much. She’s the Best!!!

Lisa Folawiyo, line founder for Jewel By Lisa has made her second appearance at Made in Africa by Arise Magazine this year at New York Fashion week. Jewel by Lisa is best known for its hand-embellished with sequins, Swarovski crystals and beads. Her collection is very modern with a touch of vintage style.

Tsemaye Binitie Spring/Summer 2012 Collection was very much range of neutral colors like black, white, rose pink, and grey with a bright pink and red cutout dress which was absolute amazing. Tsemaye seems like a very promising young talented designer. Arriving at stage to take the bow Tsemaye allowed his sister to enjoy the applause and have her shy in the spot light; he seems to love his sister very much and allowed for everyone to see how close they are. Tsemaye collection is all about the women.

Lanre Da Silva reinterprets the trendy of bright mixed looks with a define lady-like filled with a uniform color for her Spring 2012 Collection.

Asibelua’s Spring 2012 Collection was very African patterns and cultures with modern style. Her designs are so much bright colors but not making it look too much. Gorgeous!

Hervé Léger by Max Azria – Mercedes Bez Fashion Week

I was so honor to be able to attend a fashion show on one of my favorite designers of all time. During the New York Mercedes Fashion week Hervé Léger by Max Azria, he deliver a very strong sexy ready for battle inspirational chic for the Spring 2012 Ready to Wear collection.

Herve Leger is much known for the creation of “bandage” and “body-con (body-conscious)” dress by using foundation garments creating dress that would give shape to those who are wearing it.

The look of the spring/summer 2012 is more bandage-like stripes dress, with many metallic embellishments and the signature construction. There were many Reynolds wrap inspired dresses in gold, silver and rose-gold as finished with a gathered pleated strip material fabric that has been turned under and sewn that hit above the knee. It was amazing for once that I didn’t see floral prints; Hervé Léger showed something different, chic and sexy with strong power. A lot of bandage, strapless, peplum and fringe dresses. What have completely caught my attention were the black metallic suede novelty jacket and the white bandage gown, I absolutely love it. All looks were complete with a Vapor gladiator boots and a calm natural make-up look.
